Academic Activities and Responsibilities

I grew up outside of Philadelphia. Leaving Pennsylvania to attend undergrad at Duke University, I stayed in the Durham, NC area for a few years after college and worked as a sleep technician/researcher. It was then on to a post-bac, half at Duke and half at UPenn in Philadelphia. Whilst moving around Philly, my wife and I also got married in the area in 2009. I then went to Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.

In 2014 I was honored to have the opportunity to join the EM/IM/CC program at Maryland. On my interview day I was overwhelmingly impressed with the caliber of the program, the diversity of the patient population, and the quality and friendliness of the people. I completed our triple residency in June 2020, and was overwhelmed with what a positive and educational experience the six years were.

Currently I am an attending at UMMC, splitting my clinical time between the MICU and ED. I also dedicate professional time to three other roles in the institution: Physician Builder and Programmer for our Epic systems, Medical Director of the Access Center Physician Group, and Associate Program Director for the EM/IM and EM/IM/CC residencies.

Clinically my interests include critical care and emergency medicine, while my principle para-clinical interests are Informatics/Health Information Technology and Medical Education. In my free time I enjoy running, spending time with my wife and our two Labrador Retrievers (Max and Chloe) and watching sports (Philadelphia Flyers and Duke Basketball/Football).

Please don't hesitate to reach out through our website if I can ever be of help or you would like to discuss any of these areas with me.
